Conducting a rhetorical analysis was quite a challenge because I had to really understand the concept of logos, pathos and ethos in order for my essay to be effective. Breaking down the important information into different steps was helpful for my revision process because it helped my essay be more productive. Going deeper into each concept made the writing easier because I was able to give information about a certain topic and I was able to explain what the logo of the author was as well as for ethos and pathos without any difficulty. The goal of my rhetorical analysis was not to analyze what the author was arguing about each topic, but it was to analyze how the author was presenting the idea and what it meant. While writing this rhetorical analysis I learned that in order for my paper to be more effective I had to incorporate quotes from the text to make it more effective. Being able to conduct a rhetorical essay was really helpful because now I’ll be able to focus on the meaning that each writing has. For future essays, I’ll be able to identify and understand not just what writers are saying, but also the purposes and motivations behind each of their arguments. Now I am confident that I have understand the criteria well enough and I would be able to conduct another rhetorical analysis without any problem.
